2024 Nissan Z NISMO: Photos, Specs, Release Date
August 04 2023, Centennial Nissan
The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO is a third trim level added to the seventh-generation Z for its second model year, a top-spec option sitting above the Z Sport and Z Performance.
But "trim level" seems too soft a term for the highest-performing version of the highest-performing Z ever. As a successor to the 240Z, 260Z, 280ZX, 300ZX, 350Z, and 370Z, the seventh Z starts out with Nissan's twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter, 400-horsepower V6. And then adds more.
More power. More aero. More suspension. More unique elements.
The 400-horsepower engine gets a 20-horsepower upgrade (to 420) and adds 34-lb-ft of torque (for 380.) In addition to Normal and Sport, the Z NISMO's drive modes now include Sport+ for racetrack-tuned shifting. Z NISMO buyers can choose between the 6-speed maual transmission with an Exedy clutch or a nine-speed automatic.
There's a distinct red-trimmed front fascia, a taller and wider three-piece rear spoiler, and a Stealth Grey paint option. Recaro seats are the focus of the interior upgrades, that also include a red-outlined tachometer, red starter button, and a 12-o'clock-red-dashed leather/Alcantara steering wheel.
Then there are the underpinnings.
- Additional front, rear, and rear underfloor bracing combine with stiffer suspension bushings and a stiffer mounting bushing for the steering rack to bump torsional rigidity 2.5%
- Brakes now measure 15 inches at the front; 13.8 inches at the rear.
- 19-inch wheels are now half an inch wider: 10.5 front; 10.5 rear.
- Tires are wider at the rear: 285/35R19
- Z NISMO wears Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT600 tires
- Unique stabilizer bars
- Stiffer spring rates
- Larger retuned dampers
The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO goes on sale in the fall of 2023. Pricing hasn't been announced yet. In 2023, Canada's Nissan Z Sport started at $49,332; the Z Performance is a $12,000 upgrade.
