Things We Love About Our All-New 2021 Nissan Rogue SV, #1: Refinement

It's always exciting when, as a car dealership, an all-new redesigned vehicle arrives on the lot. In the case of this third-generation 2021 Nissan Rogue, it's especially exciting.

This is our best seller, and one of the most popular SUVs in Prince Edward Island. The second-gen Rogue that ran from 2014 to 2020 was a huge hit across Canada, and we knew that Islanders (especially current Rogue owners) were going to be anxious to get their hands on the very first copies of the new model. 

And we did indeed let customers get their hands on the very first Rogues we received. But now we've done something a little different by taking delivery of our very own 2021 Nissan Rogue, a Rogue that we're going to put through its paces with a full winter test. We've heard great things about the Rogue, so we want to experience it for ourselves and share everything we learn with you.

It's an SV with all-wheel drive in Pearl White with the Graphite interior. That's the middle of three Rogue trim levels optioned to include the $2,300 multi-mode AWD system. The final tally is $36,128 including freight and pre-delivery inspection. 

We're only 100 kilometres into our journey with Pearl, but already we've discovered the first thing we love about the new Rogue. Stay tuned – we'll be updating you with more of our favourite Rogue elements as the days and weeks pass.

REFINEMENT

According to the Oxford Dictionary, there are a number of ways to think about the word refinement. "A small change to something that improves it," is one example. "The process of improving something or of making something pure," is another. 

Here's how we define it: Nissan looked after every detail to filter out the bad stuff in order to create an end result that's done. Complete. Finished.

How does that sensation of completion reveal itself in the 2021 Nissan Rogue SV? In 100 kilometres of driving, we've identified a few ways. 

• • The pedals are virtually absent of any kind of vibration. 
• • The cabin is remarkably silent. You know the noise a vehicle makes when it passes you going the opposite direction on a wet road, the swish and splash and swoosh? The Rogue's glass and seal treatment is remarkable in the degree that it quells the mere existence of traffic. 
• • The signal and wiper stalks affixed to the steering column move with total solidity; a satisfying thunk as though you're opening and closing a vault door.
• • The Rogue's Intelligent all-wheel-drive system features multiple formats in its Drive Mode Selector, which is a topic for another day. But the large centre-console-mounted knob that controls the Drive Mode Selector is a knurled wheel that shuffles between Eco, Auto, Snow, Off Road, and Sport into very satisfying detents. It's delightful. 

These are small things, right? Wrong. Each of these moments are part of your daily driving experience with a vehicle, and the new Rogue nails each of those moments. That's refinement. Nissan spent time perfecting the details, so the Rogue can be so much more than just a nicely equipped, family friendly, fuel-efficient, stylish, safe, all-wheel-drive SUV.
